Testimonials
…I have never met a finer, more caring, or wonderful group of people. I do not know if I can ever help them fully understand the service they have provided for my family. It is too rare these days to find people that have the values that the folks at Oakley Place pass down to their employees and residents. They have changed our lives and we could not be happier.
I had searched for an entire year for a place that I thought would give my
grandmother the care and atmosphere that she deserves. I traveled to every adult care facility within 40 miles of Topeka with little success. It was then that we were given the number to Topeka Adult Care, and I made the call. I toured their facility in Holton and was immediately impressed with the way the staff conducted themselves. I was used to dealing with a cooperate facility that had really lost touch with the responsibilities of
operating a facility that cares for the loved ones of others. I was sold from that point forward and we made arrangements to get her moved to the newly finished Oakley Place.About that time, my grandmother became ill and we were concerned that, given
the drastic decrease in health, Oakley Place would not be able to facilitate her anymore. But Oakley Place informed us that they had decided to do whatever it took to facilitate her because they felt that she deserved to be happy and comfortable for however long she had left.We moved her in directly from the hospital and were immediately met with
overwhelming aide and support from the staff at Oakley Place. In the time since my grandmother is the happiest and healthiest she has been in
over a decade. The medical treatment has not changed, but the support and caring nature of Oakley Place has made a drastic change in her life wellness. She genuinely enjoys life again, she loves the residents and staff, and we enjoy coming to see her because she is starting to become the person she was before she became ill. I credit this life change to
the care and attention that she receives from Oakley Place. I have never met a finer, more caring, or wonderful group of people. I do not know if I can ever help them fully understand the service they have provided for my family. It is too rare these days to find people that have the values that the folks at Oakley Place have. They have changed our lives and we could not be happier.
…We immediately became part of a loving and fun family and team of angels that make my mother and father happier than they have been for a couple of years.
Finding the appropriate level of care for two elderly parents with different needs is difficult to say the least. One with a frail body, sharp mind and need for socialization, the other with a strong body and a mind and memory that require a higher level of care. Mother enjoyed assisted living but was sad and depressed that my father needed care in a different facility. As a
primary caretaker, the daily trips for mom to visit dad was exhausting for us both. Ultimately, she made the decision to move in the memory unit with dad. There were no appropriate activities for her. The staff was kind but busy with 40+ less functional patients making mother the primary caregiver for my dad.Remembering a small care facility where mother’s sister spent the last years of her life and knowing how pleased her family was with her care, I stopped for a visit. Of course they were full with a waiting list but I learned they were planning a new facility, Oakley Place at 6th and Oakley. After weeks of drive-bys hoping to see some sign of construction, ground was finally broken. We were first on the waiting list. During the construction period, we became acquainted with the owners and staff. We immediately became part of a loving and fun family and team of angels that make my mother and father happier than they have been for a couple of years. After 73 years of marriage they were excited to learn that they could once again sleep
together in their new queen size bed. I hate to express any negativity but they are both spoiled rotten. It is so satisfying to see them living in a home having fun and enjoying the care.Thank you to the owners and staff for providing a wonderful environment.
Sincerely,
Larry Woodward
God Bless you and your staff for taking such good care of Donna.
Oakley Place and its staff are the best. They give my mother-with all her challenges the loving care she needs.
My mother, Elberta, (who is in the last stages of Alzheimer’s disease) has been here at Oakley Place for over 7 1/2 years. I sure appreciate this very small nursing care facility. She gets very good care 24-7 and I can come over anytime to see her. The staff are very caring and the meals are very healthy. They have a variety of different kinds of meals.
There is about a 4 to 1 patient to staff ratio during the day hours. I feel at ease when leaving my mom’s care to this staff. The staff are cheerful and positive. This is not a hospital type setting. It’s a home away from home setting.
I am very fortunate to have found this elderly care facility for my mother.
If you are unable to keep your loved one at home, Oakley Place is the next best thing.
